Insights (Pro)
LocalForm → Insights is the one screen that looks at every form at once. The Responses tab answers what did people say to this form?; Insights answers the questions that only exist above a single form: is the site getting more responses than it was, which forms are actually being used, when people fill them in, and whether anything the site sends out is failing.
It is read-only. There is nothing to set up and nothing to switch on - open it and it is already counting.
The period
Four windows across the top: 7 days, 30 days, 90 days and 12 months. Everything below changes with the one you pick, and every window is compared with the period of the same length immediately before it - so "+18% on the 30 days before it" really is the last thirty days against the thirty before them, not against last month.
A window with nothing before it to compare with says so rather than reporting a change from zero.
What is on it
| Panel | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Headline figures | Responses in the period and how that compares with the period before, the daily average, the busiest single day, and how many of your forms were answered at all. |
| Responses over time | One column per day - per week over 12 months. Quiet days are drawn as gaps rather than left out, so a slow fortnight looks like a slow fortnight. Hover a column for its date and count. |
| Which forms are being answered | Your busiest twenty forms in this period, each with its share, its change against the previous period, its all-time total and the date of its latest response. The form's name links straight to its responses. |
| When responses arrive | Every response in the period by day of the week - which is what decides when a reminder is worth sending. The week starts on the day your site's own Settings → General says it does. |
| Delivery and blocked attempts | Emails sent and refused, webhooks delivered and failed, and attempts blocked by the anti-spam, in this period and across every form. Each links to the log behind it. |
Notes
- The figures are counted out of LocalForm's own tables when you open the screen, cached for fifteen minutes, and recounted the moment a response arrives or is deleted. Nothing is stored about them, nothing is profiled, and nothing leaves your site.
- Delivery and blocked attempts counts what is still logged. The webhook log keeps 30 days, the email log keeps what Settings → Email says, and blocked attempts are pruned daily - so over a 12-month window that panel covers the recent part of it, not the whole year.
- A deleted form takes its responses with it, so it leaves the per-form table but stays in the site's all-time total only insofar as its responses do - which is not at all.
- Anyone who can read responses can open Insights: it is the same
localform_view_responsespermission the Responses screen uses, so the coordinator who reads registrations can see whether they are slowing down without being made an administrator. - Without an active license the screen is not registered at all. Nothing on it was ever stored, so there is nothing to lose and nothing to bring back - activating a license again puts it straight back with its full history, because it counts responses you already had.
